About the Friends

Friends of the Le Mars Public Library is an advocate organization to promote and support the Le Mars Public Library. Friends helps raise awareness of the Library in the community by sponsoring programs within the library as well as doing work behind the scenes to help make the facility relevant to all the residents of the greater Le Mars area.

Friends of the Le Mars Public Library actively supports the library with the following ongoing projects:

  • Providing books to children
  • Summer Reading Program
  • Adult Winter Reading Program
  • Used Book Sales
  • National Library Week Chamber Coffee
  • Promotional materials for the library
  • Financial assistance with purchases
  • Fun speakers and special events

Second Chapter Bookstore

Second Chapter Gently Used Books is operated by Friends of the Le Mars Public Library volunteers. Proceeds from this store will directly benefit activities at the local public library. The bookstore sells used books and accepts most donated books in good condition. Would like to volunteer? Please contact the store to start the process and be part of the fun!

Friday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Saturday: 10 AM - 3:00 PM

Book sales are not held at the library.
