Overview of purposes and programs of the Friends of the Library group

Le Mars Public Library
Friends of the library is a group of people who have joined together to form a Non-profit support organization for the Le Mars Public Library.
Purposes:
- To improve the services and resources of the library.
- To promote citizen involvement in library activities
- Services: funding for library programs,helpers for various activities,provide refreshments,fundraising,bringing in programs that could not otherwise be attempted.
FRIENDS OF LE MARS LIBRARY:
This
month(APRIL 2013) you will want to renew your Friends membership. Any renewals will
get their name thrown in for a special prize drawing! Also consider
attending the Friends of the Le Mars Public Library quarterly meeting on
Monday, April 8 at 6 p.m. They welcome any one interested. They will be
looking at ways to help the library for their summer program, during
Ice Cream Days, and with programing. They are a support organization for
the library providing funding that allows the library to do some non
traditional activities and events. They're always on the look out for
creative ideas and you might have the perfect one!
Who can be a Friend? Anyone with a desire to see the Le Mars Public Library thrive and grow; who has a willingness to be a part of that growth.
How does one join? Attend a meeting, or send in application. To find out when the next meeting will be hld, call the Le Mars library or watch the Le Mars paper. Meetings are always posted in advance, and are always open to the public.
What is the Cost? The annual cost is minimal. Dues are collected annualy. Gifts and donations made to the Friends of the Library are deductible to the extent allowable by law to a 501(c)(3) organization.
